A huge THANK YOU to the Brooks Community for helping purchase 493 turkeys for the Brooks Food bank in hte Annual Real Country, Boom 101.1 Turkey Drive.  Your support with the Turkey Drive and Scotia Bank's Smiles For Christmas Campaign will help make the Christmas season a little easier for the less fortunate.

Medicine Hat College and Global Village are doing a research project on the psychological experience as an immigrant to Brooks and the Newell Region. Volunteers are needed, if you can help, contact Global Village at 403-793-3946.

The Duchess Fire Fighters and the Cadets will be going door to door in Duchess to hand out candy canes with Santa on Monday, December 18th starting at 5:30 pm.

Connect First Credit Union is launching "How The Ginch Stole Christmas" by collecting NEW underwear, socks, bras and pajamas for women, children, teens and some men at the Cantara Safe House in Brooks.  Donations can be dropped off during business hours unitl December 19th.

The BCHS Grade 10 LRP class is going to have a bake sale at the Brooks Health Centre on December 20th, 12:30 to 2:00 pm, to raise funds for dialysis, it's a great chance to get your Christmas baking.  Donations of baking are welcome, please call 403-793-6663.

Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign for Brooks is in need of volunteers, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays starting November 23rd and going to December 22nd.  They will be located at Canadian Tire, WalMart, Freson Brothers and No Frills.  If you can help out, call Michelle at 403-952-8784.  All money raised stays local.

The Brooks Kinettes are looking after Coats for Kids and Adults again this winter.  Please drop off clean warm winter wear for kids and adults at the ATB, TD Bank, Brooks Bearing or Brooks & County Immigration Services.  They are looking for coats, mittens, gloves and boots.

The Duchess Ag Society presents a Community Spirit Gala on Saturday, January 20th.  There will be dinner, silent auction and dance to the Bamboo Guppies.  Proceeds go the the operating costs and future upgrades to the aging facilities in Duchess.

The Brooks and District Child Development Society, Toy Library Program presents Jennie Ogilvie, Alberta's favourite medium, on Tuesday, February 13th at the Brooks Legion.  Evening includes a prime rib supper.  Tickets available at Work N Play or the Toy Library.
