Students in both school districts are off the week of February 18th to 22nd for Family Week. Students return to class on Monday, February 25th. Teachers convention is on Thursday and Friday, February 21st and 22nd.
The Brooks Bandits have two away games this weekend, playing in Camrose Friday night and Olds on Saturday. Prairie Rose Hospice Palliative Care Society has a community lunchbox series coming up. On Tuesday, February 19th, the topic will be Wills and Estate Planning with Tiffany Krinke. It will be held in the Cafeteria Conference room from 7 to 9 pm and it’s free.

The Brooks Food Bank and Annett Auction 3rd Annual Charity Auction will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 10 am. Time to de-clutter. If you have any household items, commercial items, farm machinery, tools, livestock, hay, vehicles, appliances or furniture you want to donate, items can be dropped off at Annett Auction starting February 19th.
The Newell Concert Series presents Gunning & Cormier, Monday, February 25th at Griffin Park. Gunning and Cormier go back 23 years when Dave had a fiddle player drop out of a show at the last minute. After that collaboration they played together and wrote together whenever they could, coming up with songs that graced both their projects, and over the years showered them with awards and nominations on the East Coast and nationally.
